The British Council will use the information that you are providing in connection with processing your registration for mandatory training. The legal basis for processing your information is that is necessary for the performance of a contract – in this circumstance our employment contracts. Your personal data will not be used for any other purpose.
The British Council complies with data protection law in the UK and laws in other countries that meet internationally accepted standards.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold on you, and the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in that information. If you have concerns about how we have used your personal information, you also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator.

We will keep your information for a period of 1 year from the time of collection in the first instance. If you do not take training within one year of registration, the account will become inactive and your data will be deleted. If you continue to renew your mandatory training, your data will be kept for as long as your account remains active.
